The Dillon family arrived in the 1880’s and coincided with Copeland gold rush, the family property is located within a few kilometres of the gold fields and supplied produce to the local gold miners. In the early 1900’s the Dillon family expanded by buying more property to run beef cattle and sell to the local markets. By the 1950’s the property had 2 productive dairies and still run beef cattle.

By the late 1970’s dairying had no longer become viable and returned to beef cattle solely. Bringing us to today where the family farm still runs beef cattle along side hay, and silage production. We also provided a local contract farming service for a number of years in recent times supplying services such as contract spraying and pasture improvement services, fencing and also supplying timber fencing material to farmers and other fencing contractors to our local area. Today where we provide an online farm supplies service. Our survival like many others depends on keeping running costs/overheads to minimum, to ensure we can grow successfully and keep our legacy for future generations.

The Dillon family have a long history of living and working on the land. The present family property in the Gloucester

district was settled in the 1880’s, originally supplying produce to local gold miners at the nearby Copeland gold fields. In the early 1900’s the property was expanded to run beef cattle to sell to local markets followed later by the addition of two productive dairies. When dairying became less viable in the late 1970’s, a return to beef cattle was made. We also have experience in providing farming services such as contract spraying, pasture improvement, fencing and supplying timber to farmers and fencing contractors.

Today, the tradition of producing prime, quality beef continues, along with hay and silage production. Like all farmers, we endeavour to keep our farm overheads and operating costs to a minimum to ensure our continued survival. Effective purchasing and acquisition of farm supplies is a crucial component of successful farm management but is often challenging and time consuming. Our desire for easier, faster, cheaper farm supplies has resulted in the birth of our online farm supplies service.
